A Foxboro man was arrested in a Curry College parking lot after officers found more than a half pound of marijuana in his car, police said.

Shawn Parker, 22, a student at the college, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Police said the marijuana they found in his car has a street value of between $2,500 and $3,000.

Police said officers saw Parker and three other students in a car that was parked in a far corner of a campus lot shortly before midnight Saturday, and they appeared to be smoking marijuana.

The officers said they smelled burning marijuana when they approached the vehicle. They found more than a half pound of marijuana, $900 in cash, scales and packaging materials in the car, police said.

The students who were with Parker were not charged.
