PRODUCT: ShamWow! super-absorbent towels

DETAILS: Advertised on TV, a box contains four large and four small machine-washable towels that can be used on everything from spills and stains to drying dishes and dogs.

CLAIMS: The Web site says they hold 12 times their weight in liquid. “You’ll say WOW every time,” the box says.

MORE INFORMATION: www.shamwow.com

AVAILABILITY: At Walgreen’s and Target, and through the Web site

SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE: $19.99

COMMENTS: Just like in the goofy infomercial, we tested a soda spill on carpet. The towel, which feels like felt, blotted the liquid on top of the carpet, but not the liquid that had seeped in. Our absorbency rating: 6 out of 10, making the ShamWow! a ShamWon’t!

WOULD YOU BUY IT? No. Spend the $19.99 on shop rags, camera guy.
