Arrest made in robbery at Acme in Green

GREEN A 41-year-old man has been arrested on a felony robbery charge after reportedly assaulting loss prevention employees at the Acme store in Green on Aug. 26 after they saw the man attempting to steal four steaks.

According to reports, a man, later identified as Jason L. Bell, of Cuyahoga Falls, had a physical altercation with three loss prevention employees and then fled in his vehicle.

The employees did not report any injuries.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office posted information on social media and contacted other law enforcement agencies in an effort to identify the suspect.

Around 1 a.m. Sept. 3, the North Canton Police Department made a traffic stop involving a vehicle driven by man that matched the description in the Acme robbery. North Canton Officers contacted the Sheriff’s Office and a Sheriff’s detective responded to the scene. The detective’s investigation revealed that the driver, Bell, was the suspect in the Acme robbery.

Bell was booked into the Summit County Jail.
