Fair Food Fest Drive Thru
It is round 3 of the Fair Food Fest Drive Thru at Springfield Lake. Never leave your car and enjoy fair food at its finest. Virtual art show
The art-A-palooza committee, local artists and the City of Green is hosting a virtual art show beginning at 10 a.m. Aug. 15 and continuing throughout the day. The virtual art show will showcase artists and allow would-be visitors to interact with and have the opportunity to purchase art from the local artists. Videos of participating artists will be uploaded to the art-A-palooza Facebook page and shared on the city of Green’s and Gallery 143’s Facebook pages. These videos, directly from local artists, will tell viewers about the artist, their work, and include contact information should one wish to purchase some of their work. 'The Singing Contractors’
From 7 to 8:30 p.m., Aug. 20, join in to hear the contractors by day/singers by night, Josh Arnett and Aaron Gray. They are known as “The Singing Contractors.” They are Indiana boys who get together on the job site and belt out a tune every once in a while. As actual contractors with the scars on their hands to prove it, they work hard, love God and family and are humbled that so many people love to come and hear them sing. Moths vs. Butterflies
From 8 to 9 p.m. Aug. 22, join in virtually for Moths vs. Butterflies will be presented by a Summit Metro Parks Naturalist through Zoom. Learn the differences between these two Lepidopterans. ’The Mane Event’
With so many traditional events being canceled, take in a special program with the Akron Zoo. From 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 29, join in “The Mane Event” and virtually meet the lions and the lion keeper. The event will include live keeper talks, a lion training, and presentations from some conservation partners from around the world. There will be opportunities throughout the event for Q&A.
