BEREA  For the third time in her career, Baldwin Wallace University senior forward Rachel Bender has been selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Team.

Bender, a former Jackson standout, is a four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and two-time Academic All-OAC selection, and the rest of the first-team Academic All-District nominees now advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team ballot, which will be announced in December.

A communications sciences and disorders major, Bender carries a 3.94 grade point average and was named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American in 2017.

Her other academic honors include being a dean's list student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

In her senior season, Bender led the Yellow Jackets and the OAC in most offensive categories, including a team-high 143 shots, 16 assists and 44 points, all of which topped the conference standings in those categories.

Her team-leading 14 goals tied for third in the OAC and capped off her four-year career with 60 goals, 37 assists, 157 points and 18 game-winning goals. She will graduate with the school's single-season and career assist records and finish second all-time in career goals and career points scored.

BW finished the 2018 campaign with an 11-7-1 record and a 5-4 mark in the conference, advancing to the OAC Tournament for the sixth consecutive campaign.
