JACKSON TWP.  Jackson senior quarterback Jaret Pallotta, a two-year starter under center for the Polar Bears, made his commitment to the University of Massachusetts official, signing to play for the Minutemen with his coaches and family on hand.

Pallotta, who helped lead the Polar Bears to two straight playoff appearances, completed 318 of 559 passes for 4,626 yards with 43 touchdowns in his career. He leaves Jackson as only the seventh quarterback in Stark County history to post back-to-back 2,000-yard passing seasons and set school records for passing yards in a season with 2,504 as a senior and passing yards in a game with 394 against Perry last September.

As a senior, he was a key part of Jackson capturing a piece of the Federal League title. He received many honors this past season including First Team All-Ohio, Northeast Inland District Offensive Player of the Year and Federal League Player of the Year.

Pallotta was also named to the first team for Northeast Inland District, Federal League, WHBC-AM, the Canton Repository and Akron Beacon Journal.
