NEW FRANKLIN  Nate Stahl, a New Franklin resident and junior at Walsh Jesuit, has verbally committed to play baseball at Wright State.

Stahl, a right-handed pitcher and third baseman for the Warriors, helped lead the team to the regional semifinals in 2017 and was also a member of the 2016 team that was ranked nationally.

"I am most proud of being part of a team that is committed to growing players both on the field and off. Coach (Chris) Kaczmar, coach (Steve) Grescovich and all of the coaches find value in each of us and bring out the best in us," Stahl said.

Stahl is the first member of the baseball team’s junior class to make a college commitment. He cited Wright State’s success as a Division I program and wins against some of the top teams in the country as reasons for choosing the Warriors.

Off the field, Stahl has participated in mission trips to Arizona and the Bahamas with his youth group at High Point Christian Church. He plans to major in physical therapy at Wright State and is the son of John and Deanna Stahl of New Franklin.
