JACKSON TWP.  Jackson senior wrestler Braxton Freeman committed to continue his athletic and academic career at Kent State Tuscarawas in a ceremony held earlier this month at Jackson High School.

Freeman, who was a state qualifier as a senior, also earned second-team All-Federal League and All-Stark County recognition in his final season. With Freeman and teammate Victor Marcelli leading the way, the Polar Bears finished second in the league to Perry. During the course of the season, Freeman set the school’s single-season record for pins with 25.

Jackson wrestling coach Joe Knopick, Kent State Tuscarawas athletic director Rob Brindley and Kent State Tuscarawas wrestling coach Dave Schlarb joined Freeman for his signing ceremony.
