• Jenny Lyogky had a team-high 18 points and Bri Sommers added 13 for Lake Center Christian, but the Tigers dropped a heartbreaker, 50-49, in overtime to Our Lady of the Elms in a non-league girls basketball contest.

• Lauren Thompson scored seven points and Madison Miller added six for Springfield as the Spartans fell 73-23 to Portage Trail Conference Metro leader Norton in girls basketball.

• Kaleb Martin and Bobby Staudt combined for 45 points to pace Green to a Federal League boys basketball win over Perry by a score of 75-62. Martin had 23 and Staudt added 22 as the Bulldogs earned their second league win of the season.

• Five players scored in double figures, led by Jayson Wagner with 22, as Coventry raced out to a 27-13 first-quarter lead and routed Field 97-61 in Portage Trail Conference action. Jarmond Hogg added 13 and Treon Sibley, Drew Williams and Dusty Burkhart each had 11 for the Comets.

• Jacob Ickes had a team-best 15 points and C.J. Ritenour chipped in 14 as Lake Center Christian won a last-minute decision, 53-52, over Portage Trail Conference County Division rival Garrettsville in boys basketball.

• Preslie Halliwill had a game-high 16 points for Mogadore as the Wildcats routed host Waterloo 67-39 in a Portage Trail Conference County Division girls basketball game, the teams’ final matchup before the Vikings exit the PTC at the end of the school year. 

• Sammi VanScoy scored 18 points to tie for game-high scoring honors, but Manchester couldn’t overcome a five-point halftime deficit in a 51-47 loss to Indian Valley in girls basketball.

• Taylor Norris had 13 points and Megan Murray contributed eight for Coventry, which started slow and was unable to close the gap on Ravenna in a 51-33 loss in girls basketball.

• Joe McBride poured in 24 points and Jake Maranville was the only other Lake player in double figures with 10 as the Blue Streaks swept the season series with Hoover by downing the Vikings 52-48 in Federal League boys basketball action.

• Five players scored six points or more, including seven from Andrew Hanna, six from Brody Carper and five from Logan Hedrick, as Springfield downed Ravenna 51-42 to improve to 5-8 overall and 4-5 in Portage Trail Conference boys basketball play on the season.

• D.J. Conley had a high game of 236 and a high series of 460 for Springfield as the Spartans defeated Portage Trail Conference rival Garrettsville 2,552-2,135 in a boys bowling match.
