LAKE TWP.  Lake senior girls lacrosse player Alyssa Roberts has committed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Hiram College.

Roberts played both goalie and defender for the Blue Streaks, and as a defender this season, she had more than 30 ground ball recovers. According to Lake coach Holly Axline, Roberts was recruited because of her ability to push out offenses and keep them away from the goalie.

“Alyssa’s outstanding performance and communication helped to build a solid foundation for the first-year Lake girls lacrosse program,” Axline said.

With her dual experience as a goalie and defender, Roberts expects to compete for a back-up goalie role with the Terriers as a freshman. Hiram is an NCAA Division III program competing in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
