The statewide count of coronavirus cases grew Sunday to 19,914, an increase of 2.9% from Saturday, according to data posted by the Ohio Department of Health. The cases include 17 new deaths for a total of 1,038 and 3,769 cumulative hospitalizations.
Here are the latest local case numbers (provided by the state unless otherwise noted):
Summit: Data released Sunday by Summit County Public Health show 698 confirmed cases, including 57 deaths (3 new) and 134 people currently hospitalized (down 1). Among the deaths, 39 or 68 percent involved long-term care facilities. The case count includes 156 (3 new) sickened health-care workers.
Stark: One new death reported. A total of 398 cases (21new), 99 cumulative hospitalizations and 53 deaths.
Portage: No new deaths reported. A total of 247 cases (four new), 65 cumulative hospitalizations, 41 deaths.
Wayne: No new deaths reported. A total of 153 cases (four new), 23 cumulative hospitalizations and 32 deaths.
Medina: One new death reported. A total of 172 cases (no change), 45 cumulative hospitalizations and 16 deaths.
Ashland: Nine cases (one new), one hospitalization, no deaths.
Holmes: Six cases, two hospitalizations, one death.
Tuscarawas: 118 cases (9 new), 13 hospitalizations, no deaths.
