LAKE TWP. During the regular meeting on Feb. 24, the Lake Township Board of Trustees heard a presentation from the Lake Township Historical Society requesting to be added to the township’s budget in the amount of $5,000 to $6,000 a year.

Several members from the Lake Township Historical Society spoke to the trustees about what the Historical Society does and why it’s important to perverse the history of the township. Historical Society members asked the trustees if the historical society could become part of the township’s annual budget.

The Historical Society is seeking funding for expanding programming and holding special events.

Trustees said they need to review the request before deciding on whether to add them to the annual budget.
