LAKE TWP.  The Lake Township Chamber of Commerce held its seventh Annual One Bite Taste Event on  Oct. 28 at the Hartville MarketPlace. Hundreds of residents, businesses and chamber members spent a relaxing evening of networking and tasting the many specialties from numerous local eateries.

“We have 18 to 19 food vendors here tonight providing guests an opportunity for some great food throughout the evening,” said event Chair and Lake Chamber Board member Stoney deGeyter. “One Bite provides an opportunity to sample foods from eateries that people may not have previously visited. We change the venue each year for the event and this year we’re in the recently remodeled South Side Market area of the Hartville MarketPlace.”

The Boys of Brass instrumental quartet from Lake Local Schools was also on hand during the evening to present live background music. A list of participating restaurants this year include:

• Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant

• Peace Love and Little Donuts of Hartville

• Hartville Kitchen

• Front Porch Café

• Tom and Chee, Green

• Walther’s Café, Canton

• Sol Pie Pizza

• Kona Ice

• Pegasus Country Store & Garden

• Hillside Tavern

The eateries offered a variety of samples including soups, sandwiches, desserts, pizza, different flavored sausages and other enticing delectables.

“This event is meant to showcase the businesses in the community and this year that included the Hartville Marketplace. We couldn’t hold this event without the restaurants. They provide all this food each year at their expense. I want to thank them for joining us every year,” deGeyter said.

The Chamber typically partners with a non-profit for this event, and this year, diners will be able to purchase raffle tickets throughout the evening for a chance to win various prizes donated by area businesses.   Raffle tickets proceeds will benefit Love Our Community, a local charity assisting families in Lake Township by providing housing, food, clothing, counseling, and more.
