Marlington hosted its fourth annual Champion Day where students with special needs from Stark, Summit and Mahoning counties got to feel what it's like to compete on Game Day.
To begin the event, the students’ names were announced on Marlington’s football stadium loudspeaker as they ran through a banner and onto the field. The students also tried drills representing each of Marlington’s fall sports – cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis.
This year's participating districts were from Plain, Green, Louisville, Marlington, Minerva, Plain, Sandy Valley and West Branch school districts.
Nearly 200 people, including Marlington High School athletes, participated.
