LAKE TWP.  During the regular meeting on Aug. 19, the Lake Local Board of Education approved extending the contract of Superintendent Kevin Tobin, commencing Aug. 1, 2020 and ending July 31, 2025.

“We appreciate your being here at the district and are glad to approve the new contract," said board member Derrick Bailey.

“This is my dream job, it’s been both challenging and rewarding at the same time the past three years," Tobin told the board. “I enjoy being the caretaker and appreciate the work of my team. I want to thank the board for their commitment to me and to my family.”

Tobin’s salary for the five-year contract was not available at the time of the meeting.

OTHER ACTIONS: 

- Approved a contract with Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health to provide counseling services with one registered therapist at a total cost of $90 per hour with a minimum of two hours.

- Accepted a number of donations including $2,920 from the Martha Holding Jennings Foundation for a music grant awarded to Danielle Shaub and $20,154 from the Lake Elementary PTO for the benefit of the Principal’s account to meet the needs of students at Lake Elementary School.

- Approved bus routes for the 2019-20 school year.
