JACKSON TWP.  During the regular meeting on Aug. 13, the Jackson Township Board of Trustees swore in new Chief Assistant Fiscal Officer Michelle Caldwell, who will be working for Fiscal Officer/Economic Development Director Randy Gonzalez.

Caldwell started with the township in 2008 as a personnel assistant and become human resource coordinator in 2016. Her annual salary will be $56,000 and she along with two other assistants will be helping to mange the $50 million plus budget for the township.

She replaces the previous chief assistant fiscal officer, Debbie Kerr, who retired recently after working with the township for 32 years. 

Other Actions:

- Swore in two new part-time police officers, Stephen R. Altieri who will be working as a School Resource Officer at $23 an hour effective Aug. 14 and Kurtis J. Johnson, part-time patrol officer at $20 an hour, effective Aug. 17.

- Approved disposing of a list of equipment that is “no longer needed and unfit for value.”

- Paid bills in the amount of $1.3 million.
