Cuyahoga Falls Kayak Race
From 1 to 10 p.m. April 27, enjoy the 4th Annual Cuyahoga Falls Kayak Race. The Race event kicks off at 1 p.m. Expert whitewater kayak competitors and spectators will be gathering to participate and watch the time trial race through the most difficult section of rapids on the Cuyahoga River. Healthy Kids Day
Camp Y-Noah is hosting a healthy Kids Day from noon to 5 p.m. April 28. It is a free family event open to everyone. Experience the outdoor fun, rain or shine, including Zumba, Yoga, archery, canoeing, sports contests, healthy snack making and much more. Take part in a Scavenger hunt, make memories and learn about the great things offered through the Akron Area YMCA. Membership is not necessary. Food will be available for cash-only purchase. Children must be accompanied by adults. The camp is located at 815 Mount Pleasant Road.
Hope for the Wild
The Akron Zoo is hosting its Hope for the Wild fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. May 2. The event will feature special guests, Kartick Satyanarayan and Geeta Seshamani from Wildlife SOS, which is based in India. Wildlife SOS works to protect wildlife in India by taking a stand against animal cruelty, rescuing animals in distress and educating local communities to help resolve human-wildlife conflicts. The zoo will be open for guests to explore, and a raffle will take place. Tickets are on sale at akronzoo.org. A general admission ticket, which includes an open bar, non-alcoholic drinks and food, is $50. Student tickets are also available for $25 and include soda and food. Guests must be 18 years or older to attend. A portion of the funds raised at Hope for the Wild benefit will support the Akron Zoo’s conservation fund, and a portion of the proceeds will directly benefit Wildlife SOS.
