Jackson Township trustees delayed action on a nuisiance complaint to give the new owner of the property a chance to address the issue.

TUESDAY MEETING

KEY ACTION  Delayed until the May 14 meeting a decision on whether a property at 5189 Sherlin Ave. NW should be declared a nuisance.

DISCUSSION  Township officials have been dealing with complaints about items being left in the driveway at the property for several months. The resident would move items from the driveway into the house, but eventually would crowd the driveway with more items. The property now is owned by Federal National Mortgage Association, which intends to evict the current resident. The resident told trustees that items have been removed from the property. Trustees decided to wait and give the new owner time to claim the property.
