Waterfowl for World Water Day
Beginning at 3 p.m. March 22, it is Waterfowl for World Water Day at Nimisila Reservoir Metro Park, 5531 S. Main St. Nimisila Reservoir is an important migration stopover for a multitude of waterfowl. Join a Summit Metro Parks naturalist to look for ducks and other waterfowl as we celebrate World Water Day in collaboration with Manchester High School. From 5 to 7 p.m., students will host a variety of free water-related activities in the cafeteria of the high school located at 437 W. Nimisila Road. For information, call 330-865-8065.
From 6 to 9:30 p.m. March 22, the Spring 2019 Canton-Akron VegBash will be held at the Cultural Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave. N., Canton. It is one evening celebration of vegan and vegetarian cuisine featuring the food of restaurants and caterers, live music, shopping, exhibits, non-profits and family activities. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Children 5 and under are free. Tickets will include $5 in food vouchers that can be used for the food vendors at the event. From 10:30 a.m. to noon March 23 at the Portage Lakes Branch Library, 4261 Manchester Road, guests create little bunny bottoms with pom-poms then glue it inside a mini clay pot for a cute spring display. Class size is limited and ages 16 and older are preferred.
