So far this season, only 10.3 inches of snow have been recorded.

CANTON  Nearly two more inches of snow fell Thursday at the Akron-Canton Airport.

The accumulation brings the winter season total to 10.3 inches of snow as of 5 p.m. Thursday, according to National Weather Service records.

That's still 7 inches under normal for the area.

Marty Thompson, meteorologist with the weather service's Cleveland office, the Akron-Canton area typically sees around 17 or so inches of snow by this time of year.

Mother Nature could still make it up.

"There's still some time to go yet," in the season, Thompson said.

Snow isn't in the forecast again until Saturday when, he said, the area may see a "light accumulation."

The temperature was expected to dip overnight to just 16 degrees and then rise under partly sunny skies Friday to 30, according to the weather service forecast.

The extended forecast shows daytime temperatures warming up next week to just above freezing with overnight lows in the mid-20s.
