Pokémon hike

Summit County MetroParks is holding a hike along the Cherry Lane Trail to learn about Pokémon and their real-life counterparts while playing Pokémon Go. Those attending are asked to bring a device capable of playing Pokémon Go with the app pre-installed. The event will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at F. A. Electric Pressure Cooker

Celebrate the new year with the Electric Pressure Cooker Cabaret on Jan. 5. Join the homegrown talent, performers of all ages and genres or be a part of the audience. Open mic will take place at 118 W. Market St., Akron. A Pay-What-You-Can Donation at the door ($5 suggested donation). Doors open at 8 p.m. for signups for a mic slot and performances begin at 9 p.m.

Winter campfire

Enjoy a winter campfire with a naturalist as you learn different s'more recipes on Jan. 4. Bring unique recipes of your own to share, if you have them. S'mores will be provided while supplies last.
