Celebrate at Spring Hill

Spring Hill will be open to celebrate the holidays. Tour the decorated home inspired by the centennial of World War I. The tours are self-guided and include music. The house will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 28-30. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students and children 5 and under are free. The home is in northeast Massillon just east of the Lake Avenue intersection with Wales Road. Zoo Year's Eve

The Akron Zoo will host a new event, Zoo Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 31. The entire zoo will be open extended hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the event, guests can enjoy crafts, live music, a resolution wall and animal encounters. At the stroke of noon, the zoo will drop a ball “zoo style” to ring in the new year. Special appetizers and adult and kid-friendly beverages will be available for purchase. Tickets are $7 per person and the event is free for Akron Zoo members. Tickets are available online at akronzoo.org or at the zoo. Children under two are free and parking is $3.
