JACKSON TWP.  The Jackson Local Schools Board of Education approved a Renewal Emergency Levy resolution to send the levy to the Stark County Auditor for millage verification during its Nov. 20 regular meeting..

"This is a renewal levy and there will be no new taxes with the levy," Superintendent Christopher DiLoreto said.

The levy expires in December 2019. The proposed renewal would be for five years and would generate $6.15 million a year.

OTHER ACTIONS:

- Recognized the following fall sports teams for their season: Boys and girls cross country, boys and girls golf and the coaches for those teams and the boys and girls soccer teams.

- Approved a resolution to establish a capital projects fund revenue account for revenue generated from the baseball field rental; Robert Fife Stadium rental; Coca-Cola and Pepsi revenue; patron sponsorships for baseball and football fields and any donations for those fields.

- Went into executive session to discuss the employment of a public employee and to discuss details relative to the security arrangements and emergency response protocols for the board, with no action taken.
