Gregory Boudreaux has been named chief of campus security at Stark State College, effective Dec. 3.

JACKSON TWP.  A former Canton Police Department lieutenant has been named the new campus security chief for Stark State College.

Gregory Boudreaux has been named the chief of campus security, effective Dec. 3. He succeeds Mark Weldon, former Massillon City police chief, who retired this fall as the head of Stark State's security forces. Boudreaux will earn an annual salary of $68,125.

Boudreaux was a lieutenant with the Canton Police Department, serving as training bureau commander. He also was patrol division commander, a sergeant and a patrol officer in the Canton department, and served as a training officer for Walsh University campus police. He was Walsh's assistant chief of campus police for more than 20 years after co-founding the department.

Boudreaux graduated from the Ohio Highway Patrol Academy in 1986 and has completed numerous supervisory and management courses. Among the recognition he has received over his 32-year career are Canton’s Police Officer of the Year in 1992 and Coming Together Stark County’s 2016 Diversity Initiative Award.
