LAKEMORE During the Nov. 5 meeting, Lakemore Village Council approved a variety of applications for grant monies.
The applications included an emergency resolution that was approved by council for the fire chief to apply for a joint grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program in cooperation with other fire departments in the region to purchase a Grace Fireground Accountability System. The system would be used to remotely track all officers involved in a fire or other emergency.
Also, for the fire department, a resolution authorizing the mayor and fiscal officer to apply for a grant from the Ohio Bureau of Workman’s Compensation to afford extrication equipment. Included in the legislation was also funds to purchase a post hole machine for the Department of Public Services.
An emergency resolution was approved to allow for the mayor and fiscal officer to apply for financial assistance through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to fund an asset management study. The estimated loan amount is $18,233. The financial assistance will be requested with terms for principal loan forgiveness for a portion of the loan.
Council members also approved was an ordinance to amend previous ordinances regarding the report of on-the-job injuries and accidents was approved to be amended
- The annual Lakemore tree lighting will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 24.
- Council President Rich Cole thanked all who attended the Lions Club Sock Hop and said all proceeds from the event will be donated to Share a Christmas.
- Councilwoman Laura Cochran thanked Alexis Slider for donating time at the Lions Club Sock Hop.
- Council went into executive session to discuss personal issues. No further motions took place and the meeting was adjourned.
