A Frank Avenue Northwest woman, 43, was booked on a domestic violence charge Nov. 9. Her boyfriend told police the woman put her hands around his throat and tried to strangle him during an argument. The man had visible marks on his throat, police said.

Police are looking for a man who stole a paint sprayer and blower from a Strip Avenue Northwest home improvement store Nov. 9. According to reports, the man bought the items from the store and put them into his vehicle. He then went back into the store, selected the same items and placed them into a cart. He then showed his receipt from the previous transaction to a different employee and wheeled the items out without paying. The loss to the store totaled $648. Security video showed the man returning to the store later the same day returning the items he had purchased.

Someone punctured the gas tanks on five work vehicles in the parking lot of a Bradley Circle business and stole about $150 worth of gasoline. The theft was noticed Nov. 9.

On Nov. 8, the manager of a Wales Avenue country club reported someone entered her office and stole a wallet from her purse. She later discovered the thief went to two separate ATMs to withdraw a total of $507 from her bank account. She also found an unauthorized charge made on a credit card for $22.88.

A Canton man, 22, was arrested on Strip Avenue Northwest Nov. 8 on a warrant charging him with trafficking in marijuana. He was released to Stark County sheriff’s deputies.

Police responded to an attempted burglary call Nov. 8 at a home in the 5100 block of Limerick Ave. NW. The homeowner found pry marks on the door, resulting in some damage. No entry was made and nothing was taken.

Wireless speakers valued at $800 were reported stolen by a male shoplifter at a Dressler Road store Nov. 8. On the same day at a nearby sporting goods store, a $400 cooler was reported stolen.

On Nov. 7, police were dispatched to the 2900 block of Whipple Ave. to check on a man asleep in a car. During the investigation, officers reportedly found heroin in the man’s possession as well as two hypodermic needles inside the car. The 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug abuse instruments.

A Massillon man reported Nov. 7 someone made unauthorized charges on his credit card totaling $15439.

On Nov. 6, a Windy Lane Street man told police someone used his credit card number to pay for a month’s worth of visits at a Wales Avenue fitness center.

A Canton woman, 24, was booked into the Stark County Jail Nov. 6 on charges of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug abuse instruments. Officers said they found her in possession of methamphetamine, four hypodermic needles and a drug pipe while conducting an investigation at a Dressler Road business.

Three Roomba vacuum cleaners, total value $1,050, were reported stolen Nov. 6 from a Portage Street retail warehouse club. Two other vacuum cleaners of the same brand were reported stolen the same day at a Strip Avenue Northwest home improvement store. Police are looking for a man and woman captured on security video.

A North Canton man was picked up at a Mega Street department store Nov. 6 on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge. During his arrest, he was found in possession of a burnt spoon. Also, while on the way to jail, officers discovered a hypodermic needle hidden inside his boot. He was charged with felony tampering with evidence and possession of drug abuse instruments.

A Leecrest Street Northwest woman told police Nov. 6 that someone entered her unlocked van and stole a GPS device, a wallet and two Social Security cards. She later discovered the thief used her and another person’s personal information to open banking accounts in two other states.

A man stole 10 cases of beer from a Whipple Avenue supermarket, according to a Nov. 6 report. The loss totaled $190.

Police were called to investigate a fraudulent check incident at a Stephen Circle business Nov. 6. An employee said someone created two checks from the business account information and cashed them for a total of $10, 731.54.

Three coolers worth a total of $1,100 were reported stolen Nov. 6 from a Dressler Road store. Police are looking for a woman captured on security video.

Police investigated attempted burglaries at an apartment building on Portage Street Northwest Nov. 5. Two residents reported someone tried to break into their front and rear doors.

A Mansfield man, 22, was charged Nov. 4 with theft. Police said he stole a person’s coat off a table at a Dressler Road business. A wallet containing $20 and a driver’s license was in a pocket.

On Nov. 3, a Villa Padova Drive woman reported her husband tried to keep her and their two children from leaving the home. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review of possible charges.
