At 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. Nov. 18, Kent State University at Stark is hosting a theatrical production "Unnecessary Farce," a comedy by playwright Paul Slade Smith. The play will take place at the Mary J. Timken Theatre, which is located in the Fine Arts Building, 6000 Frank Avenue NW. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for senior citizens and non-KSU students. Tickets are free to all Kent State students with student IDs.
Gershwin & Tchaikovsky: Music of the People
Join the Canton Symphony Orchestra at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, 2331 17th St. NW, Canton, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 to experience the musical makings by Gershwin and Tchaikovsky. George Gershwin and Pytor Tchaikovsky have been called populist composers, writing music to touch deep in the souls of their country’s people. Spencer Myer comes back to the Canton stage to perform Gershwin’s Concerto for Piano in F, and the orchestra performs selections one of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballets, Swan Lake.
