Arts and crafts, Turkey Festival

The Springfield Township Women’s Club’s annual Autumn Arts and Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at Springfield High School, 1880 Canton Road. This family event has been a pre-holiday event for many years. Come for lunch for homemade specialties, baked goods and craft items for the entire family. Later in the evening at 7 p.m. at Springfield High School, join the Springfield marching band at the annual Turkey Festival. It is a family event filled with the band's 2018 music and more. Great door prize drawings. Tickets are available from band members or at the door.



Santa is coming to town

Santa arrives at Belden Village Mall at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8. Welcome Santa and join the Santa Arrival Pajama Party and then visit with him in the magical holiday land. Santa will be at the mall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily from Monday-Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays from Nov. 9 to 23.

Vets ride the Scenic Railroad

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) will provide a complimentary train ride to veterans and their family members on Nov. 9. CVSR invites veterans, active military, first responders and up to three family members to take a two-hour complimentary train ride through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Several local and statewide veteran organizations will be in attendance this year. CVSR will host approximately 1,012 veterans and their families on the train. Veterans and their families can choose to depart from Rockside Station, 7900 Old Rockside Road, at 9:30 a.m. or from Akron Rockside Station, 27 Ridge Street, at 3:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive at least a half hour before each train’s departure. CVSR invites passengers and the public to view a demonstration from the Color Guard at 9:10 a.m. at Rockside Station and at 2:40 p.m. at Akron Northside Station.
