On parole, the Mahoning County man was convicted in August of domestic violence against the same woman police believe he attacked Wednesday morning.

LAKE TWP. A Mahoning County man is accused of assaulting a woman in her Uniontown area home, smashing items and punching walls and doors.

Stark County Jail records show Curtis J. Kidd Jr., 35, of Beloit, was arrested at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of Sweitzer Street NW.

According to the jail records, he began punching and breaking several items in her home, including the walls and doors, and punched her bedroom door. Then he forced his way in and pinned her to her bed.

The jail records also show he removed phones so she wouldn't be able to call for help.

The woman was able to break free. She ran to a neighbor's house and dialed 911 there.

Arriving police said they found Kidd with a small bag containing a heroin/fentanyl mixture and a clear jar of marijuana.

Kidd was jailed on charges of felony domestic violence, disrupting public services, aggravated drug possession and possession of a controlled substance.

Court records also show the victim was the same person assaulted in a vehicle in which the two were riding in Alliance in August. He was convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence as the result.

Kidd already was on parole, having been released from prison Oct. 28 after serving time for illegal manufacturing of drugs and two counts of illegal possession of chemicals, according to Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction records.

He remained in the jail Thursday, held in lieu of $100,000 bond pending a Canton Municipal Court hearing.
