Boys accused of stealing helmets, goggles, oxygen masks and other irreplaceable items, according to authorities.
GREEN Two 17-year-old Cuyahoga Falls boys accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from the MAPS Air Museum have been arrested.
Inspector Bill Holland of the Summit County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that the boys were found with the stolen items in Cuyahoga Falls on Monday afternoon. One of the boys has been charged and charges are pending against the other boy.
Investigators believe they went for a tour of the museum at 2260 International Parkway on Oct. 3 and that, while there, one of the boys stuffed multiple items into a camera bag.
"The items taken include helmets, goggles, oxygen masks, helicopter controls and other irreplaceable items," Holland said in a news release Monday. He also said the boys were captured on museum security footage.
All of the items were being returned to the museum on Tuesday, Holland said, adding that the investigation into the incident is continuing.
