Akron Children's Hospital rehabilitation services will move to a temporary home in Jackson Township.

JACKSON TWP.  The local office for Akron Children's Hospital Rehabilitative Services will be moving to a temporary location at the end of the month.

On Oct. 30, the office will move to 4200 Munson St. NW, Suite C, from its current location at 5156 Whipple Ave NW in Plain Township across from Belden Village Mall. The move is temporary until 2019 when the Akron Children's Health Center opens at 6076 Whipple Ave. NW in North Canton.

Occupational, physical and speech therapists in the Akron Children's Rehabilitation Services work with infants, children and teen who require therapy following an illness or injury. They also help patients manage the effects of chronic conditions, such as cerebral palsy or spina bifida, or have a disorder in the autism spectrum.

The new health center — being built near the intersection of Whipple Avenue NW and Glenwood Street SW — will offer primary care, rehabilitation services and other specialty services when it opens in 2019.

The Munson Street NW offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. A physician's order for therapy is required. Call 330-478-1752 to schedule and appointment.
