Singing the Hits

A Chrous for a Cause will perform "Singing the Hits for Challenger Baseball" at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Advent Lutheran Church, 1516 Edison St. NW in Uniontown and at 4 p.m. Sept. 30 St. Paul’s Church, 241 S. Main St. in North Canton. A Chorus for a Cause has been voted best "Performance Group" in Stark County three years in a row. Of course, one of the songs you'll hear at this concert will be "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." Some other songs include "Stand in the Light," (performed by Jordan Smith on The Voice), a fun medley of John Denver and much more. Tickets available at the door. Canton Challenger Baseball is a little league baseball organization for children with special needs.

Akron marathon

Akron Children’s Hospital Akron Marathon Race Series starts at 7 a.m. Sept. 29 at 217 S. High Street in downtown Akron There is also a half marathon and team relay as well as a children’s relay race. Honey Harvest Festival

The Akron Zoo is hosting the Honey Harvest Festival, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 30. The festival, sponsored by Acme Fresh Market, will focus on the importance of bees and other pollinators at the zoo. The event will include honey tasting, honey wine tasting (for those 21 and older), crafts, animal encounters, live music, animal enrichment and keeper talks. Local beekeeper and advocate groups will be in attendance. Guests can also enjoy a bee-themed selfie station, plus take photos with the Honey Bear mascot. Holiday Boutique

The 25th Annual Holiday Boutique will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 5 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Canton’s Woman’s Club, 822 Market Ave. N. It’s the silver anniversary of the Holiday Boutique. The Victorian club will celebrate the silver anniversary of the botique as the home will be filled with many different vendors selling their wares just in time for the holidays.
