A Florida man, 45, and Massillon man, 49, were charged Aug. 25 with disorderly conduct by fighting. Police said the two got into a fistfight in the parking lot of an Everhard Road restaurant.

Someone used four counterfeit $20 bills to purchase lottery tickets at a Portage Street Northwest convenience store Aug. 25.

A Canton man, 22, was arrested Aug. 24 on a charge of trafficking in a controlled substance, a fifth-degree felony, following a traffic stop on Strausser Street and Wales Avenue. Police reported finding 91.6 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and multiple plastic baggies in his vehicle. The man was also charged with two traffic offenses.

A $350 video camera and a driver’s license were reported stolen Aug. 24 from an unlocked vehicle in the 5400 block of Maureen Drive Northwest.

A Paddington Down Street man, 24, was arrested at his home Aug. 24 on an active warrant and released to Canton police. On the same day, police arrested a 54-year-old Canton man on a warrant for failure to appear on a drunken-driving charge during a traffic stop on Portage Street Northwest.

A man walked out of a Whipple Avenue supermarket without paying for a $35 bottle of vodka, according to an Aug. 24 report.

On Aug. 23, a Broadhaven Avenue man told police he received a call from someone he believed was a Dell Computer representative, who said his computer had a virus. To pay for the virus removal, he was instructed to buy a $300 pre-paid gift card and call back with the serial numbers. He bought the card but when he tried to call back, he was unable to get through. He later contacted Dell Computer and learned the call was a scam.

Police arrested three people on felony drug charges during a traffic stop on Everhard Road Aug. 23. A Canton woman, 33, a Magnolia man, 37, and a Canton man, 30, were charged with aggravated possession of drugs after all three were found with methamphetamine, according to police. The woman and Magnolia man were also charged with possessing drug abuse instruments.

A Peyton Street man told police someone called two tow trucks and a Chinese food order to his home on Aug. 23.

A Crystal Lake Drive man told police Aug. 23 that someone used his personal information to purchase a cellphone valued at $1,373.

On Aug. 22, a Parkford Street woman reported $3,000 was stolen from a safe at her home. She believes a handyman took the money. Police were investigating.

A Canton man stopped for an expired license sticker on Mega Street Northwest Aug. 22 was arrested on two failure-to-appear warrants, one for disorderly conduct and other for resisting arrest. He also was found driving under suspension.

A Canton woman, 54, was arrested during a traffic stop on Everhard Road Aug. 22 after police discovered a warrant charging her with assault. She was released to Canton police.

An impact drill, various drill bits and a battery charger, total value $800, were reported stolen Aug. 21 after someone entered an open garage in the 8800 block of Eastlynn Avenue Northwest.

A 42-year-old Canton man was arrested at Kent State University at Stark Campus Aug. 21 after a campus police officer recognized him as a person wanted on two warrants, one of them a felony. During his arrest, the man was allegedly found with two clonazepam pills without a prescription. He was charged with felony possession of drugs and released to authorities on the warrants.

A Celina Street woman reported Aug. 21 someone used her debit card information to withdraw $800 from her bank account.

A Mogadore man, 41, was charged Aug. 21 with cruelty to animals. Police said he left two dogs unattended in a hot car while he and his family went to see a movie at a Mega Street movie theater. Police said the car was parked in direct sunlight and two windows were cracked open less than an inch, causing the inside temperature to reach about 100 degrees. The dogs had no water or food and showed signs of distress and heat exhaustion, police said.

Police are looking for a male suspect who robbed a produce stand on Stuhldreher Street on Aug. 20. The thief escaped with $400 and a pair of sunglasses after fighting off the victim and fleeing in a car.

Six watches, including a $3,000 Gucci watch, and $1,200, were reported stolen Aug. 20 during the burglary of a home in the 8400 block of Portage Street Northwest. A rear door was kicked in to gain entry.
