There will be numerous opportunities to catch the parade in the coming weeks.
If you can't make it to Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Canton Repository Grand Parade, you can see it elsewhere. Or if you want to watch a loved one march in the parade, there will be an opportunity.
The parade will be shown Aug. 12 on Fox Sports Ohio from 6-8 p.m. (or after the Cincinnati Reds live postgame show) and it will be shown again on Fox Sports Ohio Aug. 19 from 6-8 p.m.
The Canton Repository Grand Parade is scheduled to be shown Aug. 18 at 6 p.m., Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 20 at 8 p.m. on:
• WIVM-TV 39.1 and WIVN-TV 29.1
• Spectrum cable channel 989 in Stark County
• Spectrum cable channel 15 in Tuscarawas, Holmes and Carroll Counties
• Massillon Cable channel 128 in Stark and Wayne Counties
Stefani Schaefer, co-anchor of Fox 8 News in the Morning, will be a co-commentator on the broadcast along with Todd Porter, special projects editor from The Canton Repository. Joe Dunn will be the third person on the broadcast and provide interviews with the Class of 2018 from the parade route.
The first grand parade was held in 1963, and it has become one of the largest of the events celebrating the induction of the newest class of enshrinees into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It has grown from 40,000 spectators in the early years to a crowd of nearly 200,000 lining the 2.2-mile parade route and millions more viewing it via television broadcasts.
For a second consecutive year the NFL Network's “Good Morning Football” broadcast team will feature what’s happening on the parade route, as well as conduct interviews with members of the Class of 2018 and returning Gold Jackets. The broadcast will air live Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. on the NFL Network.
