JACKSON TWP.  The Jackson Township Farmer’s Market opened the 2018 season on July 12 at North Park. Opening day saw a steady stream of shoppers stopping by to see what’s new.

There were many new vendors including Heider’s Honey & Herbs and Parrott Gardens and Fresh Thyme Farmers Market was handing out free water. Fresh Thyme is sponsoring Jackson’s Farmers Market this year.

Local farmers and vendors offer vegetables, fruits, plants, flowers, herbs, honey, syrup, and baked goods which are all grown or made in Ohio. The farmers market usually opens in June but opened later this year.

"We decided to start in July this year because there are more fruits and vegetables available starting in July instead of the limited amount in June," said Jackson Township Parks Director Dave Ruwadi.

A few other vendors include Aida’s Bakery, CF Ranch and Cattle Company, Lucky Penny, Rax and Trax Farms, LLC, Wolf Farms, and The Tea Kettle and Stems and Petals among many more.

The Jackson Township Farmer’s Market is open every Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. through Oct. 4. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor can call Mary Reno at Jackson Township Hall at 330-832-2845.
