17-year-old Kyle Donaldson was a passenger on vehicle operated by 30-year-old man.

LAKE TWP.  A 17-year-old died from injuries he received after falling from an all-terrain vehicle driven on a residential street.

Kyle E. Donaldson, of Lake Township, died Saturday at Akron Children's Hospital. The accident occurred Friday just before 8 p.m.

According to the Stark County sheriff's office, Donaldson was a passenger on an ATV when he fell and struck his head on the roadway. Deputies said he was not wearing a helmet. He was taken by the Hartville Fire Department to Mercy Medical Center and then transferred to Akron Children's.

The sheriff's office still is investigating the accident, which occurred on El Dorado Circle NE in a neighborhood off William Penn Avenue NE. Sheriff's deputies have cited a 30-year-old man for operating an ATV on a public road.

Initial reports are that Donaldson fell from the ATV as it was making a turn. Deputies were trying to confirm what happened.

Donaldson lived in a different Lake Township neighborhood and Friday evening he was visiting with friends who live on El Dorado Circle NW. He was a student at Lake High School and participated in the cadet training program with the Marlboro Township Fire Department.
