Train ride through the valley
The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) is holding a dining experiences for passengers as they ride the train through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Lunch Along the Cuyahoga has begun on Saturday’s and Sundays from 11:35 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. The train departs from the Peninsula Depot, 1630 Mill Street. On board, passengers will be served a four-course meal. Tickets are $40 for adults and $27 for children (ages 3-12). Children ages 2 and under do not need a ticket but must sit on a parent’s or guardian’s lap. Evening Dining on the Rails runs every Friday from 5:40 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. departing from the Peninsula Depot. Passengers will be served a three-course meal. Tickets are $45 per person. Basics of fishing
From 6 to 8 p.m., June 8, kids can learn the basics of fishing. Bait a hook and drop a line in Alder Pond at Goodyear Heights Metro Park/Pioneer Area, 550 Frazier Avenue. A limited number of rods and reels will be available for use. Bait is provided. Participants 16 and older must have a fishing license. For information, call 330-865-8065.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., June 9, visit the Mountain Bike Area Open House at Hampton Hills Metro Park/Mountain Bike Area, 2092 Theiss Road. Join Summit Metro Parks to enjoy the Hampton Hills Mountain Bike Area, whether you own a bike or not. Several local cycling shops will have free adult loaner bikes for use during the event.
