A Middlebranch woman, 42, was charged April 23 with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, following a traffic stop on Sunset Strip Avenue Northwest. Police said she was found in possession of a non-prescribed schedule II drug. She was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail.
On April 22, an Isley Road man told police someone entered his unlocked car and stole $50, several gift cards and a power cord. The thief then broke a side window on a second car and took $40 and a set of ear buds. An unsuccessful attempt to break into a third car caused damage to the driver’s side rear door.
An Alliance woman reported $30 was stolen from her purse while she was a patient at Aultman-Woodlawn Hospital between April 17 and 22.
Police were seeking a warrant for a suspect accused of stealing food items from a Strip Avenue Northwest supermarket on four separate occasions. On April 22, police were told the suspect fled with five packages of steaks worth $125.
A Canton woman reported a person she knows struck her in the head with a beer bottle while she was at a Fulton Drive bar April 21. The woman suffered a minor injury.
An Akron man, 55, was booked into the Stark County Jail April 20 on a fifth-degree felony charge of receiving stolen property. Police reported finding nearly $3,000 worth of stolen merchandise in his car during a search at the Belden Village Mall. The property had been reported stolen from businesses in Akron.
Two counterfeit $20 bills were passed at a Mega Street department store, according to an April 20 report.
A Norton woman, 54, was charged with theft April 20 after she was accused of stealing $93 worth of items from a Strip Avenue Northwest supermarket. She was issued a court summons and released.
On April 19, a Portage Street woman reported a UPS package was stolen from her front porch. She received confirmation the package was delivered on March 23. It contained a portable countertop dishwasher valued at $260.
A Cuyahoga Falls man, 24, and a Beach City woman, 27, were arrested on theft charges April 19 after they were accused of shoplifting $244 worth of items from a Dressler Road department store. The woman was additionally charged with possession of drug abuse instruments after police reported finding two hypodermic needles in her purse.
A Massillon woman reported April 19 that someone stole a floral arrangement from a loved one’s gravesite at a Wales Avenue cemetery.
A Canton man, 28, was arrested on a misdemeanor drug possession charge April 19 after police found him carrying a bag of marijuana in his underwear during a traffic stop on Hills and Dales Road. He also was cited for not having a valid driver’s license and no visible license plate.
A Promway Avenue business owner told police April 19 that someone made a copy of a company check, then forged and cashed it for $1,855.
On April 18, a Thackeray Avenue woman reported someone used her debit card at an ATM on Frank Avenue to withdraw $400 from her account. She said the card was a replacement card and believes it was stolen from her mailbox.
Police investigated a break-in at a Belden Village Street auto repair shop on April 18. A window on a rear garage door was smashed to gain entry. An inventory of stolen property was being compiled by the victim at the time of the report.
A Canton man, 26, was charged April 18 with disorderly conduct. Police said they found the man walking in the middle of Everhard Road in a highly intoxicated state.
The owner of a Holiday Street title agency reported April 18 that someone accessed the business account and transferred $2,936.13 to another account in three separate transactions. The owner was able to recover funds from the first two transactions but not the third, which totaled $1,949.18.
A North Canton woman, 31, was arrested April 15 on charges of burglary, receiving stolen property and grand theft, all felonies. Police said she entered a resident’s garage on Echodell Avenue Northwest and stole a 2013 Lexus. The woman was arrested on another burglary charge the same day after police said she stole a garage door opener from a resident’s car on the same street.
Police are looking for two men who pushed two shopping carts with nearly $1,000 worth of merchandise out of an emergency exit at a Mega Street department store on April 15.
A Stuhldreher Street man told police April 15 that a person he believed was an employee of an investment company defrauded him of some money. He later found out from the investment company that the person was not an employee. The man filed a report with the Attorney General’s Office and was advised to file a police report.
A Clinton woman reported someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse while she was inside a Dressler Road restaurant April 15.
The owner of a Belden Village Street restaurant told police someone has been stealing money from the business for the last five months. The owner believes an employee is responsible.
A Canton man, 24, was arrested April 14 on a fourth-degree felony charge of carrying concealed weapons. Police reported finding a 9mm handgun and two fully loaded ammunition magazines in his car during a traffic stop on Whipple Avenue. He was originally pulled over for having a license plate on his car registered to another vehicle.
