Hartville Police summoned their K9, Bill Stanios, to the scene to sniff out the illegal drug.

HARTVILLE  A Mahoning County woman stopped near Lake High School in the middle of the night had meth in her car.

Village police summoned their K9 Bill Stanios to Market Avenue N and Lake Center Street about 1 a.m. Friday where they had stopped Candace D. Zwick, 33, of Youngstown, Stark County Jail records show. Police say she had failed to use a turn signal on her 2010 Volkswagen Beetle.

At some point, she admitted to officers that there were "possible narcotics in the vehicle," according to the jail records.

The dog arrived and indicated that she was correct.

Police seized an undisclosed amount of meth, a glass pipe used to ingest it and other related items.

Zwick was jailed on charges of aggravated drug possession, driving under suspension, possession of drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia possession and a turn-and-stop signals violation.

She was released hours later on her own recognizance pending a Canton Municipal Court hearing.
