JACKSON TWP.  "Women of the World: a photographic journey of new Americans in the Mahoning Valley" will be featured through Jan. 2 in the Stark State College gallery on the second floor of the Student Center.

Designed to help local residents get acquainted with their immigrant neighbors and welcome them, the display focuses on the changing face of immigration in the Mahoning Valley since 2000. It features photos and profiles of women from China, Ethiopia, France, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Palestine, Peru, Russia, Syria, Ukraine and Vietnam.

The exhibit was created by Maria Bleauhu, assistant instructor of videography at Stark State, and Dr. Rosemary D’Apolito, professor emeritus, Youngstown State University.

All art is available for purchase with 25 percent of the proceeds going to the College’s aesthetics fund for the purchase of artwork for the campus. Stark State is at 6200 Frank Ave. NW.

The gallery is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
