Who am I?

A few months ago, I saw an ad for 23 and Me. I saw a commercial about the scientific way to tell each person about their DNA. DNA? I know, I was thinking the same thing as you. It stands for deoxyribonucleic acid, a self-replicating material present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic information. It is the fundamental and distinctive characteristics or qualities of someone or something, especially when regarded as unchangeable.

You see, even though you may be able to swab your cheek and gum and send a sample away to 23 and me, every human being has a common denominator in one ancestor. 23 pairs of chromosomes and one unique you. So many people try to alter their appearance or structure to be unique and yet they already are. There is not another human being in all of the world like you.

I have found it so very unusual when a child grows up, and they are told they are adopted, there is a desire to know where they came from and meet their parents if possible. They are longing to see the characteristics of their parents. For children that are not adopted, they may never even ask about their grandparents or ancestors. Why is that desire not awakened in all of us to know our ancestors? You can trace your ancestral heritage through computer-based companies on the World Wide Web like ancestry.com and also at myheritage.com and many others. It may surprise you what you find out.

I am amazed each time I watch Public Broadcasting Corporation or PBS and see Henry Louis Gates Jr. in "Finding Your Roots." They usually have three people, men or women on the program and trace their ancestors back as far as possible. Mr. Gates Jr. has a fantastic delivery to get into the DNA of American culture.

Well, let's meet that common denominator of ALL MANKIND, the man named "Adam." The Bible says: "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned, Romans 5:12 (KJV)." We are all sinners. Many people think they have done nothing wrong and yet they were born into sin from our ancestor Adam. There was a covenant that God made with Noah after the death of Adam and the world wide flood in Genesis chapter seven verse four.

I would encourage you to check out The Creation Museum, located in Petersburg, Kentucky. The state-of-the-art 75000-square-foot Creation Museum brings the Bible to life the foundation of the world and the life of Adam and Eve. You will learn that Adam was created from the dust of the ground. Yes, I said dust. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 (KJV). You will also learn that Eve, his wife, was not born either. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman and brought her unto the man. Genesis 2:21-22 (KJV).

Well, ye,s I did get my 23 and Me kit in the mail, and I sent it back in. I was amazed at my ancestry. But the Holy Bible had already verified for me who my ancestor was. Are you saved? Have you taken these simple steps to salvation? HEAR, we must hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17, KJV). BELIEVE, one must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). Jesus said: except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins (John 8:24). REPENT, Third, one must repent of his sins to be saved God now commandeth all men every where to repent, Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained. Acts 17:30 (KJV). CONFESS, one must confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). If not, why not do so today?
