Wind & Fire Motorcycle Club Northeastern Ohio Chapter #89 will host its 15th Annual "Ridin' for the Kids" Poker Run June 4 beginning at Freedom Harley-Davidson in Jackson Township, 7233 Sunset Strip.

Wind & Fire is an area chapter of the nationally recognized Wind & Fire Motorcycle Club made up of active and retired firefighters who are "A helping hand to young people injured in fire related accidents". Wind & Fire consist of 165 chapters across 20 countries with over 4000 members.

Chapter #89's beneficiary is ACBC (Aluminum Cans for Burned Children) which operates out of the Akron Children's Hospital Burn Unit. Donations and raised proceeds will send these affected children to a special summer camp and will also be used for purchasing specialized burn garments not covered by insurance to aid in the healing process. The weeklong camp allows children to interact with one another and see that there are others with the same disability. Wind & Fire club members attend the camp and are involved with the "Annual Fire Truck Day."

During the past 14 years, the club has raised $135,900. 

There will free donuts and coffee prior to the run. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and first bike out will be at 10 a.m. and last out at noon. The ride ends at Hog Heaven in New Philadelphia with a free meal courtesy of Hog Heaven. All bikes must be in by 5 p.m.

Cost is $15 per person, $20 per couple. All makes of motorcycles and any street legal vehicle is invited to participate. There will be prizes for the top five Poker hands. T-shirts and ride pins will be sold, a 50/50 drawing will be held and raffle baskets.
