Monday meeting

KEY ACTION  Accepted one administrative resignation and one retirement and rehired the resignation as a new business manager.

DISCUSSION  The board accepted the retirement of Director of Operations Chris Eliopoulos, effective June 30, 2017, and the resignation of Hartville Elementary School Principal Jeffrey S. Breit, effective June 30, 2017. The board approved rehiring Breit as the business manager of the Lake Local School District, effective July 1, 2017 – July 31, 2020.

“Chris Eliopoulos was with the district for over 25 years,” said Superintendent Kevin Tobin.

“Breit will transition into the position held by Eliopoulos over the summer. He’ll take over the duties of the director of operations plus additional responsibilities,” he said.


A representative from the state auditor’s office presented district Treasurer Nicole Nichols with a certificate for having an error-free, clean auditor’s report for the fifth consecutive year.
Held the monthly Hartville Lion’s Club, Uniontown Lion’s Club and the Lake Board of Education recognition program. The following students and staff were recognized: third graders Sophia Sharp and Zachary Novak, fifth graders Avery Neidert and Thomas Bailey, eighth graders Gianna Douglas and Koby Miller, and seniors Samantha Minor and Kyle Paul. Also recognized were Jenna Reynolds, Teacher of the Month; Erin DeHaven, Employee of the Month; and Nina Musgave, Volunteer of the Month.
Approved spring coaches for junior varsity tennis coach, middle school cheerleading coach, middle school wrestling, assistant strength, assistant varsity softball, assistant dance team, mat stat advisor, middle school head track coach, and a number of assistant and volunteer varsity track coaches.
