For the third year in a row, Central Catholic and St. Thomas Aquinas took the time before their rivalry football game to welcome Holy Cross families to a special pre-game celebration.

Staff and students from St. Thomas and Central Catholic, as well as staff from Holy Cross, came together to offer families a free, safe and spirited evening prior to the Knights' 12-10 victory on Sept. 15.

The pre-game celebration began in 2014 when Central Catholic hosted the first event and it continued in 2015 when St. Thomas hosted the rivalry game. This year, before the game families were invited to a party held at the end zone in Central Catholic’s stadium. Students were able to play a pick-up football game before the high school teams took the field for warm-ups, enjoyed pizza and cotton candy, danced along to a DJ, and got geared up with spirit wear. Plus, students had a rare opportunity to watch the high school players up close as they prepared on the field before the game. Families were also invited to attend the football game.
