Hall of Fame Festival

Grab some lawn chairs and fill up an ice chest and enjoy the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival TimkenSteel Grand Parade. The fun kicks off at 8 a.m. on Aug. 6. Nearly 200,000 people line the 2.2 mile parade route every year. The parade features the Class of 2016 Enshrinees, returning Enshrinees, balloons, marching bands, floats, classic vehicles and lots of fun specialty units.

Pottery activities

Join the Open Studio Pottery activities at the Massillon Museum every Wednesday through September 7. This is not a class. Instead, this is a chance to bring out the creative side and create. The studio is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a fee and a perquisite. Check out the website for all the details at http://www.massillonmuseum.org/.

New digs

Join the Jackson Township Branch of the Stark County District Library as they move in and open their new temporary digs. The library officially moved on Aug. 1 to The Marketplace at Nobles Pond on Fulton Road. It will hold a Grand Opening Celebration on Aug. 13. Stop by and see the new layout and some of the new features.

Enlighten your mind

Discover an evening of enlightenment at the Socrates Cafe. The Jackson Township Branch of the Stark County District Library will host philosophical inquiry and lively discussions. Thought provoking topics always welcome. Join the discussion 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29

Creative movement

Get up and get moving and join the fun with your preschooler at the Creative Movement at Jackson Township’s North Park at noon on Aug. 8. Barb Craven of Craven Dance Studio leads this highly popular event every year. Children will enjoy dance, exercising, singing and other creative activities through movement.
