The Buckeye Martinfest will be held at Portage Lakes State Park/State Mill Launch Ramp, 809 State Mill Road from 2 to 4 p.m. Celebrate purple martins, the birds that are aerial acrobats and insect-eaters. Rock the Run to support Muscular Dystrophy will be held at Tri-County Plaza, 1500 Canton Road, Lakemore. It is a 5K run and a 1-mile walk. The run begins at 9 a.m. and the walk at 9:15 a.m., and participants can register beginning at 8 a.m. same day in front of Forever Fitness or register online at www.raceit.com. Entry includes a T-shirt and awards for top places and benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Join in the Metro Parks Biking Spree. It is a two-month, at-your-own-pace event running July 1 through Aug. 31. New this year, Biking Spree participants can ride the same section of trail five times for credit, rather than five different sections. First-time participants who complete the spree will earn a bicycle license plate and a reflective sticker for their plate. Returning riders will earn a 2016 sticker. Rewards are free to Summit County residents and $5 for out-of-county participants. Included in the spree are three sections of the multipurpose Bike and Hike Trail, four sections of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and one section of the Freedom Trail.
