LAKE TWP.  During a regular meeting June 13, Lake Township Trustees opened and reviewed bids for the township's 2016 paving projects. The board approved the lowest bid from Northstar Asphalt.

Three bids were received to pave 11.38 miles of roads. Northstar Asphalt submitted a bid for $828,397, while Central Allied bid $874,200 and Superior Paving and Materials bid $859,417.

"We are doing a lot more curbs and gutters this year, so the amount of road being paved is a little bit lower," said board President John Arnold.

OTHER ACTIONS: 

n Passed a resolution to pay the bills as of June 13 in the amount of $104,126.

n Approved a roofing contract with Redesign Roofing for $9,675 to replace the roof on the Uniontown Police Department.

n Approved purchasing an air conditioning unit for the Uniontown Police Department from Barley’s Heating and Air Conditioning for $4,235.

n Approved Superior Paving and Materials for asphalt overlay for the Lake Township Recycle and Yard Waste Facility for $42,940. Arnold said the money will come from the general fund and will be reimbursed with a grant from the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Joint Solid Waste District.

n Executed a warranty deed, temporary easement, affidavit by seller and a closing/settlement statement for 1635 Edison Street for payment of $27,090 to the township for the Route 619 widening project.
