JACKSON TWP.  Get ready for some summer fun as the 2016 Jackson Township Community Celebration will open in Jackson’s North Park on June 29. The food, fun and entertainment runs through July 2 when the event closes with a grand fireworks show.

Bates Amusement returns this year with plenty of rides. There are a variety of new food vendors and the entertainment list is filled with well-known bands.

"We are extending the children’s area this year with more rides," said Jackson Township Parks Foreman Dave Ruwadi. "There will be many new food vendors this year, and we are hoping to see over 250 cars for the car show. The Community Celebration has become a tradition in the township. It’s a great way to support the Jackson Rotary Club, the Jackson Kiwanis and the Jackson Lions Club."

The entertainment schedule includes:

Chris Wintrip Guitar Academy, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., June 29

Jeff Poulos Blues Review, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m., June 30

Jackson Township’s North Park is located across the street from the Jackson High School on Fulton Road. The Community Celebration started a new tradition last year with  a new layout with food and rides in the main parking lot and surrounding fields.

"The Community Celebration is a great time for residents to come out and eat some great food, meet up with old friends and spend time with the family while enjoying one of our parks," Ruwadi said.
