In a short business meeting on April 23, trustees approved a resolution for the parks department to file an application for financial assistance through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in the form of a grant.

In a short business meeting on April 23, trustees approved a resolution for the parks department to file an application for financial assistance through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in the form of a grant.

The grant money would be used to add to the playground at the lake park. Trustee Dean Young said the current playground equipment is for younger children. With the grant, new equipment would be built that allows for older children to play as well.

Also at the meeting, trustees approved a proposal from Best Commercial Entergy Services, Inc. for the re-building of two circulatory pumps for the HVAC system for the town hall complex. The cost not to exceed $2,412.50.  

In other business for the parks department, trustees approved the hiring of Issa Boutros and Tyler Feciuch as part-time parks laborers at the rate of $9.25 an hour. They will work on an as-needed basis and directed by the parks director. Annual hours are not to exceed 1,500 each.

For the zoning department, trustees approved the total cost for abatement of two properties to be placed  on the property tax duplicates.

There were no motions for the fire and police department.

Resident Ed Glinski asked questions about property boundaries. He also wanted to know about a creek that runs behind Schrop school. Young told him they could look up that information after the meeting.

The next regular scheduled meeting is 6 p.m., May 14 at the town hall on Canfield Road.
