A wind turbine will be installed at Kent State University at Stark.

Keeping with its commitment to clean and green energy, Kent State University at Stark soon will harness the power of the wind.


A vertical axis wind turbine will be installed on campus thanks to a $28,000 Dominion Foundation Higher Education Partnership Grant the school recently received.


According to the release, the wind turbine will be installed next to the sciences building which is currently under construction. It expected to open in 2015.


Wind Turbine of Ohio, which is located Alliance, has been selected to install the wind turbine.

The release issued by the university noted that the new turbine will offer educational opportunities to students in a variety of disciplines including geology, biology and physics.
